The culmination of PIGTACULAR!, our fantastic Hogtoberfest, was a smashing success! We are pleased to say that 22 beautiful artistically decorated pigs were auctioned for a total of $14,450, all of which went to the sponsonsor's charities!
The evening of October 12, 2006 found 300 Hogtoberfest participants at the Albany Country Club. Our guest hostess was Elissa Streeter from WTEN Channel 10 news. Ellissa led the ceremonies, presented awards, and introduced honored guests. In addition, she interviewed sponsors, artists and guests.
Russell Carlsen, of Carlsen Galleries-Antique Auctions based in Greenville, New York, was our official Hogtoberfest auctioneer. He made the auction great fun, and kept the bidding moving at a brisk pace.
PIGTACULAR! was an exciting community event organized by the Guilderland Chamber of Commerce. But without the help of many volunteers it could not have succeeded. In addition, the generous participation of our sponsors guaranteed that PIGTACULAR!, Piglet's Picnic, and Hogtoberfest were fun for everybody.
Special thanks goes to our amazing artists. They created stunning artwork that brought joy to all who saw them.
